Jordan’s Internet - Wanadoo Step forward - Tedata step backward
Yeah I know it’s worthy to announce that you have increased the available Internet speed you provide to 2Mbit in Jordan which is just cool at least it shows you how confident they are in their bandwidth.
On the other hand Tedata just announced a new bandwidth cap policy, From now on Tedata will NOT (Can you hear me?) give you unlimited bandwidth plan but limited one
Their new plan start from 3GB a month which I can reach just by checking my email and my blog or you can pay extra money to get 7GB which is also not enough.
Two days ago I decided to disconnect my ADSL line since I will not make use of the 512 speed for more than five days a month which is ridicules, for me it’s much easier to live without Internet than being intimidated with being caped.
I don’t really know what’s causing this in Jordan, is it JTC? TRC? or the lovely ISPs? any clue ?

malage6,
This is not the point, the point is Why the hell we have this cap from the first place? or lets put it as Why we have this unreasonable capping ?
They are providing the service but handcuff us from using it in the way that ANYONE in the world would use it and then they go to the TV and start giving lies by saying we have the cheapest and the most reliable in middle east
The Capping is found everywhere, the difference is how high is the limit!
due to the small “high speed internet” market in jordan, the ISP cant afford to buy more bandwidth, if you look at other countries like usa/Europe/Australia and even UAE, there is a HUGE demand on the high speed market, therefore the capping limit is sky high, talking about 30-50gigs if not more!
a friend of mine in Australia had a 7mb adsl connection no capping, his account was terminated due to the constant abusive bandwidth utilization on his account, i have seen the termination letter in my own eyes!
unless the Jordanian market for adsl booms up, by means of lowering the prices , or waving the JTC monthly fee, things will stay as is
Until then, enjoy the few first days of the month, and crawl like a turtle the rest of the month
how come Kuwait isn’t limited?
