iPod shuffle: Same size, Double the price

You know what? in Jordan everything should be expensive because we have lots of money that we do not need and someone else can utilize it better than you!.

Yesterday I decided to buy an iPod shuffle for my poor self after I found that it’s really useful while doing long cycling rides, the iPod shuffle is amazing because it plays music just how the music quality should be played and it’s tiny enough to attach it to my shoulder while cycling, so I checked the fancy Apple story and found the shuffle for $49 which is around JD 35; which I find it a decent and fair price for elegant and well done music player but since the shipping would take couple of weeks I thought of getting it from Jordan even if they will charge me more but by more I mean something reasonable, say 30% more than the online price? so $49 online JD 49 offline which make around $70, yes that rip off was acceptable in my mind because I don’t want to wait for weeks to get it.

So I went to SmartBuy and was seriously shocked, they sell it for JD 69 + 11% taxes = JD 76.59 = $108.209 USD

WHAT THE FUCK!
Someone please explain this to me, why such fairly priced product gets doubled just by entering the Kingdom? if the Apple is selling it for $49 and having in consideration that they invented it, will support it, replace it if you got problem with it and will do many things to make their $49 customer happy, all of that for $49 so can someone explain where the hell the another 50% is going? who’s taking it and what they will provide for taking it?

anyway, I decided to buy a shuffle and an iPhone over the Internet and you know what? I wont pay any extra cent for smuggling the package into Jordan and you know what? I will even get my name engraved on both items FOR FREE
