Shoes democracy
If it’s true that newspapers and blogospher do represent the street pulse then there are million of happy and satisfied people with the shoe throwing at President G.W Bush during the conference but as for me I still have some unanswered questions before declaring my emotional stand on that particular event.
Before asking whether the journalist is being tortured or not; or whether his allegiance to Iraq surpass his allegiance to Iran I would emphasis that I was really impressed with George Bush immediate reaction, he started with calming people down followed by asking So what if the guy throw a shoe at me?
it’s a way for people to draw attention and if you want facts the shoe size was 10
.
I don’t want to ask what would your reaction be if someone throw a shoe at you as individual or even as a president of a country , a normal country not even the most powerful one in the world? I’m sure the guy might be beheaded right after the conference if not during it live if that happened in an under developed
country but Bush reaction was very democrat reaction, it’s something I will remember and respect.
Americans have the chance to prove they brought democracy to Iraq by releasing the guy untouched although it might be late for untouched part, if the president is said it’s just a matter of drawing attention and he wasn’t threatened by; and his immediate reaction was very democrat and understanding then it should be followed by releasing the guy at least as part of We brought democracy to Iraq and this is the prove before I leave
.
It would be sad to all Americans if they didn’t release him because they have been fighting for years and many of them lost their families to install democracy in Iraq and all destroyed with a pair of shoes.

Honestly, I haven’t yet figured how i feel about this shoes-throwing incident till now since it does lack sophistication, reinforcing stereotypes about how ill-tempered, reactionary, and probably “uncivilzed” Arabs are. But one thing I am sure of: who cares about our image in the West concerning this particular incident when we all know that Bush has caused ultimate barbarous destruction in Iraq, while never caring about his image nor the image of his great country to us, the Arab and Muslim world…?

mm, well what Montazer did is a brave from him and prove that he is a real man , but what will happen to him “allah y3eeenooo 3aleee” .
what i wanna to say things will not change , peace in Iraq or other countries will not be ,,, because as what said one hand dose not clap , …..
we all need union , Arab Union to face them ..
not by talk ,,
,,
democracy ,, !! i think bush was pretending that ,, !!
because he knew that this one can not effect any thing to him ..
his feeling?? bush reaction ,, did not see his laugh after that and when he said : Do not worry !!!!!

Your question whether Bush brought democracy to Iraq, can be answered immediately, NO, since it’s about 48 hours after the heroic incident and bush is still silent. Maybe he ordered Maliki to execute the journalist, instead.
Sad to the victims, both Iraqis and American soldiers.
As the other question, whether or not you intended to do so, but I consider it as a question, whether his allegiance to Iraq surpass his allegiance to Iran.
My answer is : both are fine, both are fit his beautiful action. At least, he said in his 2nd throwing, “this is for the orphans, widows and all the killed Iraqis”.
