#AI

Artificial intelligence is the through-line of much of what I write, but these posts resist the hype cycle. Instead of chasing every model release or benchmark drama, they step back to ask what these systems actually do to the people who build them, deploy them, and live downstream of them. That means essays on the labor hidden behind "automation," the politics of training data, the strange new aesthetics of machine-generated text, and the quiet ways AI reshapes decisions in hiring, policing, healthcare, and governance. The thread connecting them is a refusal to treat AI as either savior or apocalypse. It is infrastructure now, layered into search and email and code editors, and the interesting questions are about power, accountability, and who gets to define "intelligence" in the first place.
