#Middle East

The Middle East is where I write from, and these posts refuse the region's usual framing in Western tech coverage as either a market to sell into or a problem to be solved. I write about technology as it is actually lived here, the apps people use, the infrastructure that works and the infrastructure that does not, the regulatory environments that shape what gets built, and the cultural specifics that global platforms routinely ignore. The pieces here cover startup ecosystems, digital rights, censorship and its workarounds, and the ordinary fact that a region of hundreds of millions of people has its own technological modernity, not a delayed version of someone else's. Writing from here is not a perspective. It is a correction.
